Full Description
Former Mount Hermon Orphanage, Park Lane, Sevenoaks as shown on the 3rd and 4th Edition O/S maps. The Orphanage relocated from Kilburn, London in 1905 into a building recently vacated by a Children's Hospital (shown on the 2nd Edition O/S map). The Home finally closed in 1946 and the children were relocated to Essex. The premises in Park Lane accommodated 28 girls, aged from 5 to 12 years, and they were trained in housework and needlework with situations in domestic service found for the at the age of 15. The premises are now in private residential use.
