Summary

A desk based assessment of Broome Park, carried out in 1999, described Second World War structures in the woods at the Park. These included Nissen huts, concrete hard standings and trackways, anti-glider features and practice trenches and two tanks, probably used for testing amphibious vehicles. These were associated with the use of the site by the Canadian army during the war.

Full Description

A desk based assessment of Broome Park, carried out in 1999, described Second World War structures in the woods at the Park. These included Nissen huts, concrete hard standings and trackways, anti-glider features and practice trenches and two tanks, probably used for testing amphibious vehicles. These were associated with the use of the site by the Canadian army during the war.(1)
