Full Description
TQ 54 73. About 1890 the gunpowder makers Pigou, Wilks and Laurence Limited erected a Guncotton Factory adjacent to their existing Gunpowder Works (TQ 57 SW 33, 146). In 1898 the company was incorporated into the explosives firm of Curtis's and Harvey, soon after the Gunpowder Works reverted to Pigou, but the Guncotton Factory was retained and worked by Curtis's and Harvey.
