Full Description
Site of iron Room, Priory Road, Tonbridge as shown on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Edition O/S maps. The building has been demolished and is not shown on the current O/S map. Many Victorian corrugated iron structures were churches as they were quicker, easier and cheaper for communities to build. They were often known as "iron churches", "iron chapels" or "tin tabernacles". It is possible that this Iron Room was associated with the Golden Green Mission Hall on the outskirts of Tonbridge which in turn was connected with St Mary's Church in Hadlow.
