Full Description
Two 18th to 19th century waste pits were excavated at 128 High Street, Newington during an evaluation in 2023. The features measured around 1.48 m+ in length, around 2.8m in width, and 0.50-0.68m in depth. 59 pieces of CBM (some of which was residual medieval material) weighing 1,254g, 2 sherds of medieval and post-medieval pottery, three fragments of clay pipe, a piece of animal bone, twelve nails, and eight iron objects were associated with these features.
