Full Description
An early to middle Iron Age linear feature and a late Iron Age wallow were identified during a 2019 excavation at Lakesview Business Park, Hersden. The linear feature measured around 8m in length and 0.77-2m width, and 0.41m in depth. Pottery recovered from the fill of the feature dated to 1000-350 BC.
The possible wallow was represented by a large hollow measuring around 32m in length, 25m in width, 0.47m in depth, and which contained pottery dated to 125-0 BC and a 1st - 2nd century cast bronze bell-shaped stud. This feature was truncated by later transitional and Roman features. (1)
