Full Description
Structual traces of a Second World War defended location or Nodal point between the northern side railway line and the Canterbury road at TR 3528 6508 forming part of the anti-invasion defences which can be seen on wartime RAF aerial photographs. The site comprises a triangular enclosed area defined on the south by the railway, the north by the Canterbury Road West (A 299) and to the west by barbed wire. A possible pillbox sits in the eastern corner which coincides with part of the roadblock on the railway crossing (NRHE 1618047). It is not clear from the aerial photographs if there are any further structures within the defended area. (1)
