Monument record TQ 64 NE 339 - Site of storage sheds Arnold's Lodge, Hale Street, East Peckham

Site of double oast at Arnold's Lodge, Hale Street, East Peckham as shown on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Edition O/S maps. The building has since been demolished as shown on the current O/S map.

Oasthouse derelict and roofless at time of survey. The 1842 Tithe map shows a building on this site with 2 kilns. Flemish bond brick with with remains of peg-tile roof on square kiln only. Rectangular stowage with 2 round kilns on the east side and a later square kiln at the south end. The west side has an open, lofted lean-to with a corrugated iron roof.
