Full Description
A curvilinear chalk filled cut identified during an evaluation carried out at 87 London Road, Sittingbourne in 2014 may relate to a 19th century Smock Mill at the site. The feature measured 2.2m in length, 1.7m in width, and 0.8m in depth below the ground surface, however, the feature was only partially excavated as it was located very close to the unstable structural remains of a building, therefore, the feature was not able to be fully investigated. One fragment of brick was recovered from the fill of the feature. (1)
