A Second World War bomb crater visible as an earthwork at the edge of a large low-lying field. First seen on RAF aerial photographs taken in 1951. This was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. Since being photographed in 1951 this crater has been destroyed through clay quarrying for the local cement industry.

Full Description

A SeA possible Second World War bomb crater with a diameter of 18.5m was seen as a water-filled earthwork depression at TQ 7217 7691at the edge of a large low-lying field. First seen on RAF aerial photographs taken in 1951. This was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. Since being photographed in 1951 this crater has been destroyed through clay quarrying for the local cement industry. (1)
