Full Description
The earthwork traces of a rectangular pond measuring c. 9m x14m, possibly for stock to drink from, seen at TQ 7116 7787 within a field in Cliffe Marshes. The pond is flanked on its northern and southern sides by elongated mounds c.7m 19m which appear to be the upcast material from the excavated pond. The pond has two small creeks draining into it, entering the NE corner, and another the SW corner. This site was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. (1)
