Full Description
The first of two French vessels lost close together in very bad weather. (3)
`Captain John Mennes to Nicholas:...they have had very foul weather; two Frenchmen cast away near Sandown Castle.' (2)(4)
There are two entries for these vessels in the United Kingdom Shipwreck Index, the first attributing them to the Isle of Wight (BB), the second under Kent Downs (BE).
