'April 23. Deal. Richard Watts to WIlliamson...For two days a small vessel has set fast on the Goodwin just againts this town, and not a boast from Deal went off because they judged they had been much wronged in thier salvage. This afternoon, they making a waft, one boat only went to save tthe men's lives, but they resolve not to bring one pennyworth of goods ashore.' (2)
