Full Description

`The LUCY, sloop, belonging to H T Paine, laden with chalk, also the LEONARD, similarly laden. The latter got into Folkestone Harbour, but the LUCY bore up and endeavoured to get round Dungeness Point and, since nothing more has been heard of her, is presumed to have shared the same fate of so many others. Her crew consisted of John Fairhall and Owen Croucher, both married men, the latter having a large family.' (1)
