Full Description
'Struck on the Ridge Sand last night, broke her rudder, sprung a leak and was abandoned. The master and 11 crew left in one boat, with three in another, the latter being picked up by the ACTIVE, master Redford, from Blyth to Cherbourg, and have landed here at Deal. There is no account of the other boat . . . the CRESSWELL, which struck near the Dungeness light after being abandoned, remains a total wreck and is being dismantled.
