Monument record TQ 73 NW 330 - Site of Goudhurst Ladies College, Tattlebury Lane (formerly School Lane), Goudhurst

Site of Goudhurst Ladies College, Tattlebury Lane (formerly School Lane), Goudhurst as shown on the 3rd and 4th Edition O/s maps. The College was founded in 1878 at Curtisden Green and the new school in Goudhurst was opened in1882. This building was demolished in 1959. The College vacated its premises in 1940, when the army took possession, and relocated toDoddington Hall, Nantwich until the College closed in 1985.
There was a possible extension to the College nearby on Beresford Road as shown on the 4th Edition O/S map. This building would appear to have been converted into residential use as shown on the current O/S map.
