Full Description
The earthwork of a Second World War bomb crater is visible on an aerial photograph taken in 1946. This crater was situated at Kingsnorth at TQ 8090 7283 an area now beneath the Damhead Creek power station. The crater, first visible on aerial photographs taken in May 1942, was to the south of the Berry Wiggins oil refinery which was probably the intended target. This earthwork was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1-3)
