Full Description

Bound for the Downs when she was struck by a fierce snowstorm which obscured all landmarks, and she ran aground on North Bank Head, between Ramsgate and Margate. She attempted to kedge herself off, but could not do so. At high tide, instead of floating off as hoped, she filled with water and then capsized. The following morning, the local population descended on the wreck and plundered anything that they could. (1)
