Full Description

`Deal, 2nd Dec. The BROTHERS, of and from Whitby for Rye, was wrecked upon this beach during the gale yesterday.

`Portsmouth, 2nd Dec. The ST ANDREW...put in here today, having been run foul of in the Downs by the brig BROTHERS, of Whitby.' (1)

`Deal, Dec. 2. The MARIA ANN, of Sunderland, and BROTHERS, of Whitby, two colliers, are totally lost.' (2)

NB: The description as a collier and the direction of the voyage appear to indicate the likelihood of a coal cargo.
