Full Description
London, September 23. On Tuesday night last, the KATHERINE, a loaded collier, Tho. Moor master, at anchor near the Northfleet Reach, was run foul on [sic] by the JAMES AND MATTHEW of Yarmouth, an empty one, Robert Morly, master, and sunk. The men were all saved, but the master, endeavouring to save his niece, by carrying her up to the shrouds, the water flowed so fast, he was obliged, for his own preservation, to let her drop, whereby she perished.
