Dew pond (or sole pond), visible on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps. Recorded during 2024 Kent Downs National Landscape Historic Ponds project.
Preservation: Pond on historic maps but not visible on current OS (ghost pond)
Pond shape: Circular/oval
Site type: Dew pond (or sole pond
Description: Large oval shaped pond opposite Ovenden House farmstead (completely demolished). Seen on 1st and 2nd edition OS and mapped up until 4th edition. Not on 1m LiDAR, maybe due to the field being arable.
