Historic pond, visible on the Heritage Tithe Map and the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps. Recorded during 2024 Kent Downs National Landscape Historic Ponds project.
Preservation: Whole pond clearly visible on current OS/LIDAR

Site type: Unknown
Description: Very large pond seen from 1st edition OS in the grounds of Broughton Manor. The Manor was around during Henry VIII's time and was linked to the Archbishop's Palace so perhaps the pond was a medieval fishpond, but this is speculation.
