Summary
Site of a Second World War heavy anti aircraft battery at Lower Twydall. It was armed with four 3.7-inch static guns and GL Mark IA radar in 1942 and with the same armament with GL Mark I radar in 1943. It was manned by 452 Battery of the 90th Royal Artillery Regiment in 1942, and by 624 Battery of the 148th Mobile Royal Artillery Regiment in 1943.
