Full Description
A World War Two pillbox and anti-aircraft battery empacement at Hawkinge Airfield (Hawkinge, Kent) at TR 208 389. The light anti-aircraft emplacement is situated on the roof of the pillbox. The pillbox was built before November 1940, as the Defence of Britain record refers to an official list of installations produced at that time, named as "43 Divisional Area (Kent): list of pillboxes and defended houses". The installations were reported to be extant and in fair condition in 1999 after a field visit connected with the Defence of Britain project. (1)
