Summary

Site of temporary light anti aircraft (Diver) battery at Cranbrook which was occupied from 24th-28th June 1944. This had been part of the second deployment of anti aircraft equipment to the Kentish Gun Belt. Each battery consisted of two 40mm light anti aircraft guns deployed to sites which already had adequate troop accommodation, and it was manned by 97 Regiment of 102 Brigade. This was one of 38 sites which were redeployed within 4 days of being set up.
