Summary

Site of Second World War heavy anti aircraft battery TS24 at Burham. It was armed with four 4.5-inch guns with GL Mark IA radar in 1942, when it was manned by 272 Battery of the 90th Royal Artillery Regiment. In 1943 it was manned by 566 Battery of the 169th (Mobile) Royal Artillery Regiment. It was retained as an Off-Site Nucleus Force Battery in 1946.
