Summary
A Royal Observer Corps monitoring post. The site is located (with the surface features intact) on the top of Clay Hill at the end of half mile farm track running south from Lamberhurst Farm, Dargate. The site was built as part of an extensive network of posts designed to confirm and report hostile aircraft and nuclear attacks on the United Kingdom.

Full Description
Underground monitoring post built to monitor nuclear bomb explosions and the drift of fallout. Built in 1962 it was closed in October 1968. The site is open but in an overgrown fenced compound. Surface features are in reasonable condition. The post battery remains in the monitoring room together with dismanteled bunk beds. The shaft is filled with wire to discourage access.(1)
