Summary

Site of a Second World War light anti aircraft (Diver) battery at St Margarets at Cliffe. This was armed with 40mm guns, and was manned by 371 of the Independent Anti Aircraft Regiment when it was deployed here on 26th August 1944. This was additionally armed with four AGE guns with Predictor AA No.7 radar on 28th August 1944. It formed part of the 71 Light Anti Aircraft Artillery Brigade deployment.
