Summary

Site of a Second World War heavy anti aircraft (Diver) Battery in the Diver Box at Warden. It was originally armed with four 3.7-inch Mark IIc guns, and was occupied from July 26th 1944, when it was manned by 176 Anti Aircraft Artillery Regiment. It was upgunned to eight guns equipped with BTL Predictor, and SCR584 and GLII radars on 22nd September 1944 when it was manned by 51 Battery of 169 (Mixed) Anti Aircraft Artillery Regiment. On 24th November 1944 it was manned by 256 Battery of 82 Anti Aircraft Artillery Regiment. It formed part of 28 Anti Aircraft Artillery Brigade.
