Full Description
Site of Second World War heavy anti aircraft artillery (Diver) battery in the Diver Box north of Fletcher Battery, Eastchurch. It was armed with eight 3.5-inch guns when deployed on 13th August 1944. On 22nd September 1944 it was manned by 563 Battery of 159 (Mixed) Anti Aircraft Artillery Regiment, and equipped with BTL Predictor, and SCR584 and GLII Radars. From 24th November 1944, X Independent Regiment manned the battery. It formed part of 28 Anti Aircraft Artillery Brigade. (1)
