Full Description
A Post Medieval sheepfold is depicted on the 1st edition 1:2500 map dated 1885. It sat near the centre of an enclosure defined by drainage channels on a disused saltern mound (described in NMR 1531465) at TQ 7755 7812. The sheep fold and its associated field is adjacent to and possibly contemporary with Shade House (also on the mound; see NMR 1531466). By 1909 the sheepfold had been repositioned further south can can be seen on aerial photos taken in 1947. It had been demolished by 1978.
