Full Description
The course of a former post medieval sea wall extending north-east from Ryestreet in the direction of Cooling Marshes. It is possible that this former wall linked up with the sea wall which defines the parish boundary of Cooling (NMR Monument Number: 1532017). The wall is recorded on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map and on all subsequent editions up to the present day. However, it is not clear when the wall was constructed.
This was recorded during the course of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. (1-4)
