Monument record TQ 77 NE 1387 - Post-medieval pond

Summary

The earthworks of a post medieval circular pond and associated spoil heaps can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1947. This pond was circa 14m across and was situated in a field south of St. Mary's Marshes. Narrow lengths of spoil followed the northern and southern edges. This site appears to have since been levelled. They were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.

The earthworks of a post medieval circular pond and associated spoil heaps can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1947. This pond was circa 14m across and was situated in a field south of St. Mary's Marshes at TQ 7966 7788. Narrow lengths of spoil followed the northern and southern edges. This site appears to have since been levelled. They were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1-2)
