Full Description
A post medieval sheep fold on Buckland Marshes (formerly Frindsbury Marshes) is depicted on the 1885 Ordnance Survey map. This site was centred on TQ 7744 7731 and can also be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1947 by which time only the building remained and the pens had been removed. The sheepfold sat within an enclosure defined by drains the southern arm of which was disused and free of water in 1947. The building has since been demolished and the site levelled. This site was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1-2)
