Summary

The earthworks of three blocks of post medieval ridge and furrow can be seen to the west of High Halstow on aerial photographs taken in 1947 and 1953. Much of this area has subsequently become overgrown but some ridges are still visible. This site was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.

Full Description

The earthworks of post medieval ridge and furrow can be seen to the west of High Halstow on aerial photographs taken in 1947 and 1953. These three separate blocks are centred on TQ 7797 7550, TQ 7764 7529 and TQ 7768 7523. Much of this area has subsequently become overgrown but some ridges are still visible. This site was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1-3)
