Full Description
The earthwork remains of a probable Second World War bomb crater with a diameter of 14m, seen at TQ 8599 7724 in Allhallows Marshes. This was mapped from RAF 1946 aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. The crater lies close to the site of a WW2 bombing decoy (NMR Monument: 1469960), possiby due to bombing targetted at the decoy. The crater could be seen as a circular water-filled depression in the corner of a low-lying field on photographs taken in 2009.(1)
