Full Description
The earthworks of a post medieval field boundary can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1947. This boundary was defined by a bank and ditch and was situated on marshland north of Damhead Creek. It encloses an area centred on TQ 8126 7282. This boundary is not depicted on the 1st edition 1867 Ordnance Survey map of the area and presumably was no longer in use by that date. Although landscaping has levelled some of this boundary parts of the south eastern and south western sides are still visible on aerial photographs taken in 2007. This was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1-3)
