Summary

The earthwork of a Second World War bomb crater is visible on an aerial photograph taken in 1946. This crater was situated in the mud on Slede Ooze and could still be seen as late as 1966, but is no longer visible. This was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.

Full Description

The earthwork of a Second World War bomb crater is visible on an aerial photograph taken in 1946. This crater was situated in the mud on Slede Ooze at TQ 8200 7219 and could still be seen as late as 1966, but is no longer visible. This was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1-3)
