Summary

The earthwork remains of a possible causeway or seawall can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 2007. This earthwork is situated on the saltings on the eastern side of Damhead Creek. It is aligned on the seawall to the south east. What appears to be a second, less well preserved earthwork bank can be seen on the saltings to the east. These were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.

Full Description

The earthwork remains of a possible causeway or seawall can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 2007. This earthwork is situated on the saltings on the eastern side of Damhead Creek. It is centred on TQ 8207 7316 and is aligned on the seawall to the south east. What appears to be a second, less well preserved earthwork bank can be seen on the saltings to the east. These were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1)
