Full Description
A former jetty dating from the early part of the 20th century which was seen at TQ 8930 7597 at on coast just south of the Hard linking Grain Tower to the mainland. This jetty was recorded on 4nd epoch Ordnance Survey maps of c.1938 and was mapped from aerial photographs taken in 1942 as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. The jetty no longer exists, though some of the stumps of its posts can be seen in the mud at low tide.
A second older jetty (NMR Monument No.1542096) was situated to the north of the Hard. (1)
