Summary

The structural remains of a possible Second World War pillbox located south of the seaward end of the Smithfield Road, close to the point that the Hard to Grain Tower meets the beach. This possible pillbox was seen on 1942 RAF aerial photographs and mapped as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. The structure does not appear to survive.

The structural remains of a possible Second World War pillbox located at TQ 8926 7600 south of the seaward end of the Smithfield Road, close to the point that the Hard to Grain Tower meets the beach. This possible pillbox was seen on 1942 RAF aerial photographs and mapped as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. The structure does not appear to survive.(1)
