Summary

Remains of a steel-hulled barge of probable 20th century date, 22m long by 6m wide, first recorded in 1972 at the landward (southern) end of a chain of 10 wrecks which appear to have been deliberately abandoned east of Minster. Located between Royal Oak Point and Paddy's Point, in the inter-tidal zone, she is the third vessel in the principal landward group, reading south-north. Orientated NW-SE, her landward end lies approximately 7m to the north-east of the seaward end of the second wreck in the chain (1530886). Status: Site

Recorded as a line of obstructions lying north-south, length 280m.

15-FEB-1972: Obstructions running parallel to line on chart from 51 25.31N 000 49.53E, consisting mainly of 11 steel lighters about 80ft long by 25ft wide, out to 900ft offshore. (1)

10-NOV-1982: Shown as line of obstructions centred on 51 25.31N 000 49.53E. (1)(2)

Seen to lie in the principal landward group of five wrecks in the chain, and measured as 22m long and 6m wide. Seen to lie in the inter-tidal zone, centred on approximately TQ 98655 73472. NB: Only 10 wrecks visible in this view. (3)
