Full Description
A semi-sunken D-shaped pillbox, with a diameter of 14ft 6ins and with 24ins thick walls, with 4 narrow non-splayed embrasures. The entrance is at the left hand end of the rear wall and about 6ft deep. Above the entrance is a small embrasure. Around the interior of the curved front of the pillbox is an elbow rest about 3ft 6ins high, which appears to be of solid concrete. Traces of a criss-cross pattern on the roof suggest that camouflage netting may have been applied before the concrete had set.
Pillbox (Sector 5). Cassini ref 763614. Duke of York's Royal Military School, on Dover-Deal road (A258). (1-2)
