Full Description

Former Turkish Baths, off High Street (Biggin Street), Dover as shown on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Edition O/S maps. The Baths were opened in 1903 but proved very expensive to run and the owner filed for bankruptcy in 1905. The Baths were taken over and were finally closed in 1934. The building, known as Biggin Hall, was originally built in 1881 as office accommodation for the Police Station opposite. In 1894 hot and cold baths were installed and these continued to be used until after WW2. After refurbishment, the building is now used for meetings.
