In 1888 it was converted into an exhibiton hall, known as the Exhibition Palace Theatre. Then in 1896 it was re-modelled and re-named Pleasure Gardens Theatre. During its lifetime it was used not only as a theatre but also as a concert hall and a cinema. Eventually it closed in 1964 and was later demolished.
