Full Description

Worked flakes and flint chips were found in a large space, newly cleared, in North Frith Woods near Tunbridge, on the Shipbourne Road. The subsoil is Kentish ragstone with waterworn pebbles of jasper and haematite. In the course of two visits about forty flint chips and worked flakes were found, including a scraper. None was waterworn. (1) The provenance and present location of these flints was not discovered. Mr L R A Grove, Curator of Maidstone Museum had no knowledge of them. (2)
