Full Description

Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWD Sank following a collision with SS STREGULUS off Dungeness. 30-MAY-1974 wreck examined in 50 50 16N 00 521 9E. Least echosounder depth 21.2 in gen depth 31mtrs. 01-MAY-1975 Wreck in 50 50 16N 00 52 19E. Least echosounder depth 21.1 in general depth 31mtrs. Scour 2mtrs deep. Gave no sonar shadow. Sonar length 120ft. 10-JUN-1976 Swept clear at 20.5, Foul at 20.9Mtrs. Least echosounder depth 21.1Mtrs. Prominent wreck, sitting upright. Length 110mtrs. Lies 070/250 deg on flat seabed. Gives very good sonar shadow. 13-MAY-1976 Surveyed by naval divers. Reported as small coaster, lying upright with stern sunk into seabed and with slight list to starboard. Seabed - sand and soft mud. General depth 32mtrs. 07-JUN-1978 Upright about 200 to 250ft long. Quite broken with stern unlocated. Number of holds unconfirmed but all silted up with no evidence of cargo. Known locally as "MAXWELL". Very ornate brass compass pedestal and other typically spanish brass fittings found which indicate wreck may be the "ENERO". Commercial in confidence requested.
