Full Description
The building is visible on the 2nd (1897-1900), 3rd (1907-1923) and 4th (1929-1952) ed. OS maps. The Ampitheatre was built in1883 as a circus with five small shops and a hotel. Showing film , The Royal Kinematograph in 1897, becoming the Royal Palace Theatre in 1908 Post WWII returning to live theatre. Demolished in1960.
