Summary

A small circular structure can be seen on the old sea wall south west of Wallend on aerial photographs taken in 1946. This possible wartime structure is circa 4.5m in diameter and was demolished during the building of the BP oil refinery. It was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.

Full Description

A small circular structure can be seen on the old sea wall south west of Wallend (TQ 8701 7521) on aerial photographs taken in 1946. This possible wartime structure was circa 4.5m in diameter and was demolished during the building of the BP oil refinery. It was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1-2)
