Full Description
A group of post medieval animal pounds named Southlevel Pounds are depicted on the 1864 Ordnance Survey map. They were situated on South Level, at the south-west corner of the Isle of Grain and were centred on TQ 8667 7478. Still in existence in 1908 the buildings had gone by 1931. This site was identified as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1-3)
